My main lidded vessel piece was successful and also non successful. I am not sure what type of lid I created, but I created it by attaching rectangular pieces on the lid to ensure it would not move around when put on the vessel. The piece itself works and the lid stays on, unless of course you turned it upside down.
I hand built this piece which was not that difficult, and I also added on a bottom to make the piece taller and more defined. Unfortunately I added on the bottom when the rest of the vessel was almost completely dry. This caused the bottom to fall off in the kiln due to differences in the wetness of clay, and poor slipping and scoring. So I reattached the piece with a sturdy glue and then glazed it. Again I messed up when I forgot the glue would burn up in the kiln and I would have to reattach the piece again. In the end my lidded vessel had a cracked look to it. I don't actually mind it though; it makes the piece look vintage. Overall I am satisfied with my lidded vessel and I gained some valuable knowledge during the process.
